NORTHWEST CHORAL SOCIETY
MEETING MINUTES
October 14, 2014

CALL TO ORDER:
The October Board Meeting of the Northwest Choral Society was held at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1095 Dempster/Thacker, Des Plaines, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:48 PM by NWCS Board President Penny Perles.  The following board members were present:

        Meredith Bechtel        Mary Jane Matecki
        Greykell Dutton            Penny Perles
        Kelsey Green            John Schindler           
         David Hitch            Diane Szuberla       
                                 
Also present: Alan Wellman, Artistic Director.

MEETING  MINUTES:
The meeting minutes of the September 9 board meeting were reviewed and approved.
John Schindler made a motion to accept the minutes as they were.  The motion was seconded by David Hitch.  The motion passed.

ARTISTIC  DIRECTOR:
Soloist, Josephine Stumple Lindburgh, has been secured for April concert.
Orchestra for Many Moods

ADVERTISING  COMMITTEE:
Kelsey says some ads have come in, still need more.  Ads for Doug and Jade will be free

DEVELOPMENT  COMMITTEE:
Glenview State Bank is on board with a $250.00 donation as a corporate sponsor
There will also be two more

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:
Greykell will do the CD from Crown Jewels and sell it for $10 which will cover the cost of bill last April to have it done.

PUBLICITY:
Penny is working on Press Release for December
Season Flyer almost done along with December concert flyer

PROMOTIONS:
Sent a letter to 12 people offering a $24 Special Discount price for Early Bird & Season Subscribers
Penny says letter to our database mailing list will be going out.  Decided to make an offer that anyone who donates $50 or more will get one free ticket

FACEBOOK:
Kelsey will publicize that we sang at Northwest Hospital on our Facebook page.

WEBSITE:
Not all members have signed up yet.  Will keep asking.

OLD  BUSINESS:
Survey looks  like most votes for trip was British Isles.  Penny will contact Brenda for info.
Penny sent contract to April venue
Will ask members again which day for CSO welcome yule before concert performing
NEW  BUSINESS:
Board decided to go for professional recording with Gargoyle Brass. Agreed to pay $250.00 toward cost. Gargoyle will pick up the rest of the rest of $750 cost. This is for Pinkham.
Possibly do more for full album at St. Michael Roman Catholic in Wheaton in July?
Penny will ask about closed circuit tv for organist at Grace.
Alan will ask Gargoyle brass about going with us in kickstarter
NEXT MEETING:
Our next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, November 11, 6:30 PM, before rehearsal at St. Martin’s.

ADJOURNMENT:
The Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 PM by a motion from Diane and a second from David.  The motion passed.
