MEETING MINUTES
October 10th, 2017
CALL TO ORDER:
The October 2017 Board Meeting of the Northwest Choral Society was held on October 10th, 2017 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 766 Graceland Ave. Des Plaines, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:40 PM by NWCS President Penny Perles. The following board members were present:

MEETING MINUTES:
The meeting minutes from the August 8th meeting were reviewed and the following changes will be made: The date for the Saturday rehearsal should be updated to 11/18/17. The August meeting minutes will be approved at the next board meeting.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for August 2017. Cash disbursements totaled $1,307.84. Cash receipts totaled $12.82. Our regular account now has $13,640.12. Including petty cash, our final total was $13,675.12. Mary Jane Matecki made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Angela Carlson. The motion passed.
Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for September 2017. Cash disbursements totaled $1,252.78. Cash receipts totaled $4,299.29. Our regular account now has $16,686.63. Including petty cash, our final total was $16,721.63. Diane Szuberla made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Karl Dahlstrom. The motion passed.
SEARCH COMMITTEE:
The Search Committee with split the June Concert between the 2 finalists for the music director position.
NEW BUSINESS:
Kelsey will be running the Ad campaign next year even though she will not be on the board.
A guest conductor is needed for the April concert. There are a few proposed candidates but we have not approached anyone yet.
Kristie will write the program notes and give the pre-program lecture for the April concert.
A friend of Julie’s who is a graphic designer crated a NWCS poster to put up in the area to look for new members. The design is complete but the poster will be tabled until we have a new director.
Harper College Printing
Harper College will be printing all materials for the December concert.
Penny presented several options for business to graphic design and printing for future concerts.
Penny will contact Angelina (Harper College) to give us a quote on freelance graphic design work.
NEXT MEETING:
Our next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, November 14th, 2017, at First Congregational United Church of Christ.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:26 PM by a motion from Noreen LaValle and a second from Kristie Webb-Williams. The motion passed.
