MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER:
The March 2019 Board Meeting of the Northwest Choral Society was held on March 9th, 2019 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 200 N. Plum Grove Rd., Palatine. The meeting was called to order at 12:30 PM by NWCS President Penny Perles. The following board members were present:

MEETING MINUTES:
- Noreen LaValle made a motion to approve the meeting minutes for the January board meeting with no additional changes. Lori Mackie seconded the motion. The motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
- Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for January 2019. Cash disbursements totaled $1,874.54. Cash receipts totaled $3,604.50. Our regular account now has $28,767.47. Including petty cash, our final total was $28,802.47. Angela Carlson made a motion to approve the January 2019 treasurer’s report. Julie Fisher seconded the motion. The motion passed.
- Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for February 2019. Cash disbursements totaled $2,674.40. Cash receipts totaled $637.31. Our regular account now has $26,730.38. Including petty cash, our final total was $26,765.38. Angela Carlson made a motion to approve the February 2019 treasurer’s report. Lori Mackie seconded the motion. The motion passed.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:
- Kevin suggested that Immanuel Lutheran parishioners receive a 20% discount on ticket prices for the Spring 2019 concert. $20 Adults, $16 Students/Seniors.
- Kevin suggested that we ask the choir to see if it is possible to move the rehearsal start time to 7pm.
- Kevin proposed having a session at the beginning of the rehearsal series to talk about NWCS’s current progress and situation.
- Possible recruitment ideas: Outreach concert, Partner with a symphony or with another choir in the community, Attempt to recruit men who used to be in the choir to come back.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Penny will contact David Hitch to see if he will help with gathering corporate sponsorship and ads for the choir.
- Tom will be paid for the Christmas 2018 concert as a ringer.
- NWCS audio and video needs to be added to the website.
- All previous NWCS donors that have not donated this year have been contacted.
- Stephanie Seburn and daughter will help at Spring 2019 concert.
- Monica Penny will help with the Spring 2019 bake sale.
NEXT MEETING:
- Our next Board Meeting will be 6:30 PM Tuesday, April 9th, 2019 at First United Methodist.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Board Meeting was adjourned at 1:40 PM by a motion from Noreen LaValle and a second from Diane Szurberla. The motion passed.
