TICKET  SALE  REPORT:

Diane Szuberla presented the ticket sales and highlights report of our April 9th concert:

  • Audience attendance: 133.  This was the lowest attendance of a spring concert in the last four years.
  • Ticket sales: $3,224.52.  35 members sold 104 tickets in advance.  37 tickets were sold at the door.  Approximately 59 were adult tickets and 81 were student/senior tickets.  (Full report follows these minutes.)
  • 35 members sang in this concert (12 less than our membership).
  • Two members of the Saints volunteer organization served as ushers.  They were both former NWCS members.

BAKE  SALE  REPORT:

Profit from the bake sale at the April 9th concert:  $345.00.

TOTE  BAG  CHOICE:

Kelsey Green presented a sample of a possible tote bag.  The bag is nylon, red with white print and black straps and bottom.  There is a one-time $50.00 charge.  We would have to order a minimum of 150 bags.  Including shipping, the cost of each bag is $5.33.  We could sell them for $8.00 or $10.00.  There is a six day turnaround time so we could still get the bags by our anniversary dinner on the 30th.  The board members present agreed to the ordering of this bag.

NOMINATING  COMMITTEE  REPORT:

  • Eight members of the board are up for reelection this year.  Penny, Mary Jane and Diane will submit their names for reelection.  RobynWaldman Borek, Meredith, David and Ruta will not seek reelection.  Greykell Dutton has moved out of state.  John is unsure if he will still be in the Chicago area in the fall.
  • Angela Carlson, the committee chairperson, presented the names of three chorus members who have tentatively agreed to serve on the board:  Beth Phillips, Kristie Webb-Williams and Karl Dahlstrom.  Due to work commitments, Karl would only be able to join the board next January.
  • The board can have up to 14 members.

ANNUAL  GENERAL  MEETING:

Our Annual Meeting of the Whole & Election of Board Members Meeting will take place May 21st, the day of our Saturday rehearsal.  Penny, Noreen and Diane will prepare written reports to present to the membership.

END  OF  SEASON  PARTY:

If the restaurant is available, we will have our end of year party the Tuesday after our June concert at Emmett’s Tavern & Brewing Co. in Palatine.

MISCELLANEOUS  ITEMS:

  • Penny is preparing a program book for our anniversary dinner.  She is seeking to find as much as she can about the beginning and history of our group.  Members who have been with us for five years will receive a certificate and those who have been members ten or more years will receive a pin.
  • Concert attire for the Windy City Choral Festival: men – black suit, white shirt and black bow tie; women – our black concert dresses.

ADJOURNMENT:

The Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:32 PM by a motion from Noreen and a second from David.  The motion passed.
