CALL TO ORDER:
The July 2018 Board Meeting of the Northwest Choral Society was held on July 18th, 2018 at the Mount Prospect Public Library, 10 S. Emerson St. Mount Prospect, IL. The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM by NWCS President Penny Perles. The following board members were present:

TREASURER’S REPORT:
Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for May 2018. Cash disbursements totaled $1,631.42. Cash receipts totaled $17.49. Our regular account now has $28,781.16. Including petty cash, our final total was $28,816.16. Kristie Webb-Williams made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Mary Jane Matecki. The motion passed.
Noreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for June 2018. Cash disbursements totaled $5,626.21. Cash receipts totaled $3,494.92. Our regular account now has $26,649.87. Including petty cash, our final total was $26,684.87. Mary Jane Matecki made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Angela Carlson. The motion passed.
2018/2019 BUDGET:
The board reviewed the July 2017 through June 2018 budget to determine what should be updated for the July 2018 through June 2019 budget. Notes were taken by Mary Jane Matecki.
The July 2018 through June 2019 budget will be finalized and approved at the next board meeting.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:
The artistic director will be checking out churches at which the choir has previously sung at to determine possible concert venues.
There will be a voice check for all choir members (not an audition). The voice check will include the member preparing a song if they choose, voice placement, sight reading.
The voice checks will be held August 21 at First Congregational and August 22 at St. Raymond’s. Contact Julie Fisher to sign up for a time slot.
NEW BUSINESS:
A new donation letter will be sent out introducing the new artistic director, Kevin Kelly.
The NWCS meet and greet will be held August 28th at First Congregationsla from 7-9pm.
There is a press release on the NWCS website announcing the new director Kevin Kelly.
A letter will be sent to the former members about the meet and greet to introduce Kevin Kelly.
Penny has new material for the NWCS libary display. The NWCS display will be at the Arlington Heights Library in August.
The Saturday rehearsal for the December concert will be November 17th.
NEXT MEETING:
Our next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

The Board Meeting was adjourned at 9:51 PM by a motion from Noreen LaValle and a second from Diane Szuberla. The motion passed.
