CALL TO ORDER:
The May 2018 Board Meeting of the Northwest Choral Society was held on May 8th, 2018 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 766 Graceland Ave. Des Plaines, IL. The meeting was called to order at 6:35 PM by NWCS President Penny Perles. The following board members were present:

MEETING MINUTES:
- The meeting minutes from the April 17th meeting were reviewed and were approved with the following change: the Starlight Anthology cannot be bought individually. The choir members are not able to buy their own anthology copy. David Hitch made a motion to accept the April meeting minutes with the aforementioned change. Julie Fisher seconded the motion. The motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
- ïNoreen LaValle presented the treasurer’s report for April 2018. Cash disbursements totaled $5,981.32. Cash receipts totaled $4,398.00. Our regular account now has $30,461.63. Including petty cash, our final total was $30,496.63. Lori Mackie made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. The motion was seconded by Angela Carlson. The motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS:
- Nominating committee spoke with Greg and Burrell about joining the board but neither have officially accepted.
- The board purchased a set of Starlight anthology for the choir for $246.95.
- The Potbelly fundraiser after the April concert made $34.49.
- No fundraiser will be done after the June concert.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Guillermo will need to lead the first half of the dress rehearsal and Kevin will lead the second half.
- Diane wrote the thank you notes to the concert volunteers.
- Postcards went out and the concert posters have arrived.
- The June concert program book is being worked on and should be ready in a few days.
- The December 2018 concert will be held at St. Raymond’s on December 2nd at 4pm.
- The End of the Year party will be held June 5th where the board will announce who will be the next artistic director of NWCS.
- Edition Peters Publisher for the composer Alexander Campkin sent NWCS an email asking if the choir would like to sing the composer’s music. An email response will be sent saying the choir will reconsider this offer in early fall once we have chosen an artistic director.
- There will be a meet and greet at the beginning of the fall rehearsals.
NEXT MEETING:
- Our next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, May 19th, 2018, at the Saturday rehearsal at St. Raymond’s.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Board Meeting was adjourned at 7:25 PM by a motion from Noreen LaValle and a second from Diane Szuberla. The motion passed.
