MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER:
The November-December series of council meetings were held electronically via email. The following board members were present:

NEW BUSINESS:
On October 30th, Penny approached the board with the opportunity to commission Thomas LaVoy for a choral piece to be sung at our upcoming April concert. On October 31st, a majority of the board members voted in favor of commissioning Thomas LaVoy for a SATB choral piece with the suggested themes of unity and hope.
The dedication for the commissioned piece will be the following: Dedicated to Northwest Choral Society (IL) and its members past and present. Thanks to collaborative pianist Lori Lyn Mackie and to former artistic director Alan Wellman.
On November 14th, the board met after rehearsal to discuss the hiring of graphic design student Larissa Barnat to complete the design work for the April and June 2018 concerts for a fee of $750. Karl Dahlstrom made a motion to hire Larissa for the April and June concerts and Presstech for the concert printing needs. Noreen seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Our next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, at First Congregational United Church of Christ.
